Question I'm new here

My name is sapina from Kiribati. I' m RN but currently I'm working temporarily as a nurse educator. I'm new to this post so I'm still learning. Tomorrow I will take student nurses to the wards to observe administerig of IMI. We have discussed/demonstrated locating different sites used for IMI during class. I'm just wondering if upper outer quadrant is still practiced in your hospital, cos here everybody is practicing it. Secondly, where would be the most preferrable site for IMI from your own experience.
Your ideas please
Thanks for your time
Sapina

Re: I'm new here

Hello & welcome to a;;nirse & to education

I prefer the ventrogluteal over the dorsalguteal there has been some suggestons that the the upper outer quad has a greater risk for injury.

Best of Luck! Have fun with your students!
