High School Health Occupations?

Hey again! I'm still very interested in teaching, and another love I've always had was to teach as a high school health occupations teacher. The one I had in high school was amazing, and was one of the reasons I came out here to go to school. Does anyone here have any experience in it? Any idea what kinda of education I will need before pursuing this? TIA-Andrea

This year my freshman son had a former CCRN as his Health Sciences teacher. The curriculum included drugs/alcohol/STDs, personal responsibility, self esteem, depression. He learned a lot. I spoke to her during Open House, she had to get a teaching certificate. I think she said it took one semester.

Thanks! At the HS I went to, there were two courses (it wasn't a general health course). You were able to get your CNA 1 thru the class. The first part was an anatomy/phys type of class, the second class was CNA skills. -Andrea
