Help with clinical placement

Starting to despair a bit here...

I am currently in my final year of a BSN program in Helsinki, Finland. For our last clinical practice it is strongly advised that we seek out a placement outside of Finland (our course has an emphasis in multi-cultural nursing). I have been trying like mad to find a placement in NYC (I grew up there and my folks still live there) or the surrounding areas, to no avail. I know that recent legislation has made it tough, but my school is quite open to compromise. As this is our last practice, they expect our skills to be nearly complete. We would not have to give primary patient care for example if it was an insurance risk, nor would we have to read charts if it was a privacy issue. The point would just be to learn about nursing in other environments.

If anyone knows of, or is involved with a program that might be able to help, please send me a message. I would be most appreciative. My preference would be close to NYC, but beggars can't be choosers here. The practice would last for about 6 weeks, and would start as soon as November.

Thanks for reading this far!

Great Scott:
Just brainstorming here, but I have a long history of 'helping' other RNs -

do you have any pediatric interests? how do you feel about looking at some home care situations, some telephone triage situations etc. ?

maybe I can help - give me a private email address via my private mail box and we can dialog perhaps ?
