I've thought about teaching review courses, but am not sure what it is like, or how to get started. Any advice is appreciated.

I don't teach NCLEX review courses, but have this suggestion: Perhaps you can volunteer to tutor last-semester students in your school of nursing as a way of "getting your feet wet" with the subject matter. Also, these NCLEX book reviews from Google Book Search might be very helpful:

I teach NCLEX review classes. In what capacity are you considering doing this?

Thanks for your reply. I am thinking about doing this on a part time basis initially, with the goal of becoming almost full time down the road.

How did you get started? Beyond familiarizing oneself with the materials, what sort of prep is involved? What kind of credentials are desired?

I teach for Kaplan. They have an orientation period and have been very supportive. I have a full time position in a hospital, so cannot do more than 2-3 per year since they take 3-4 days. Sometimes we will split the course so all 4 days are not together. At any rate, it is worthwhile to me. I took the workbook and marked it with extra info to give a little content, but the thrust of that course is to teach you how to dissect the questions.
