I am so sick of all this ice and now more this weekend? Ughhhh

School got out early last friday when it all started and then we were off monday (MLK) and then tuesday they closed campus. Today we are at 10am instead of 6:30am (can't complain) for clinicals which is cool.

Looks like we might be off monday as well if it snows again this weekend!

My kids are going crazy.

Amen! All this snow is making me nuts! At least it's warm enough to turn the roads slushy today (at least here anyway) but it will all refreeze tonight and this weekend is not going to help!

My kids aren't in school yet but my 2 year old keeps saying "Mommy, Snow coooooold" over and over lol

Friday we got out of school at 10a.m. and I haven't been to school since. We were suppose to start clinicals yesterday, but my school is on schedule with OKC public schools. Cabin Fever is killing me.

I was working my usual schedule last weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) and ended up spending the night on Friday night at the hospital with 2 other girls from my floor but made it home the other nights. Sunday I was the only aide on my floor (yes, it sucked!) Then I was called in to work on Monday because there was also only 1 aide and I felt compelled because I didn't want anyone else to be in that situation. THen I have been doing my preceptorship on the same floor that I work on Tues/Weds/Thurs. That puts me at 7 days straight of 12 hour shifts. I'm soooo tired. I'm off Friday, then was scheduled for Saturday and was supposed to be off Sunday as well but my manager asked me to come in because there were only 2 aides scheduled - one has pneumonia and the other lives in the middle of nowhere and will probably be stuck at home again if we get the snow predicted. Make this weather stop! I want to have regular staffing again!

I know - I was so excited to go to Sam's today just to get out of the house for a while!

Although, our cancellations have been kinda weird because I guess if OCU or OKC public schools cancel classes, then we don't have clinicals, but OCU doesn't always cancel classes when OKC public schools do... We normally have classes Mon-Wed and clinicals on Thurs & Fri. So, school closed early last Friday and the morning clinical group went home early, the afternoon group didn't go at all. MLK on Monday so no class, but OCU didn't cancel classes Tues & Wed so we went to class. Now Thursday and Friday no clinicals since OKC public schools are closed... I haven't figured out why they don't want us to risk our necks to drive to clinicals but it's okay to risk life and limb to get to class? Most of us commute.

Oh well, whatever... I'm actually not in clinicals yet this semester, my group starts in a few weeks so I'm not missing out on much!

Unreal. I skipped the grocery stores last Friday due to the mayhem but I had to go today and it was horrible, long lines. I am so ready for classes to really start again. Since so many people have been gone the teachers have been really understanding to those folks and not really going into any of the material.

I wish it would all stop and melt.

I am in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (about 80 miles south of the Oklahoma border) and we received the most beautiful snowfall yesterday. Of course, my local community college closed all campuses due to the treacherous road conditions. By the way, the vast majority of the snow has melted...

Well, I visited OKC last weekend from LA and simply loved the white
stuffs everywhere. I wanted to take my son of 4 years old to a ski
place but could not find one nearby. Any suggestions for my next
trip ?

As for the ice and snow, I do not get to see it that much and did not complain. But my wife really hated it eventhough she just moved there
in Jan 2007. But surprisingly, I could not see the 'snow falling' that weekend
either !!

Saroj, I am glad you got to come and visit. Oklahoma does not have mountains for skiing. Colorado is the place to go for skiing and that is over 10 hours away from Oklahoma. How are things going for your wife?
