can't believe it

I just moved to Oklahoma City from Indiana because of husband job transfer haven't been working just over 2 years. Just found out OK has a new license requirement that you need 560hrs of work in the last 2 years otherwise you need a refresher course. The bad part is the course is $1900.00 dollars, 80 hours of course work and 160 hours clinical. It's bad enough trying to come up with them money but not being able to work for another 6+ weeks is ridiculous. If OK has such a nursing shorter why such strict requirements or lower the cost of the course or give assistance. Inquired at the hospitals but none will offer any assistance and will not hire me in another position until I get my license.
Just doesn't make any sense since you see all the RN positions available on the hospital websites you'd think they would try to help a little. So, instead got my Missouri License and now doing traveling nurse to St. Joseph and Joplin. Pays alot better and don't have to work as much.

Wow, that is a pretty steep price for a course that is probably 6 weeks long! That's more than my LPN class costs all together! So after you work the 560 hours you can get the OK license, right? I have family in the Joplin area and the drive isn't too bad, but St. Joseph is a little further.
