Moving to Fort Drum from Bama and have ??

I will be relocating to the Fort Drum area in February. Im from Alabama so I obviously dont know a thing about NY or even the north for that matter.. Does anyone work in the community's around Fort Drum? I would love some info on the hospitals in that area.. Pay, good places to work etc. Actually any info on that area at all would be greatly appreciated.. In case it makes a difference as to employment oppurtunites I have been an RN for 2 years and my background is in med/surg/oncology. Thanks in advance for any info ya'll can give me!!
