How did you apply for job?

Hi! Which facility are you currently working for? How did you apply (Open House, Online, Walk-In, Nurse Recruiter, know someone, etc)? And how long until they called you for an interview?

Thanks guys!!!

Re: How did you apply for job?

I work at NYP-Cornell. I worked there previously in another capacity, so I sent in my resume to HR. It took about 1 1/2 months to get an interview, even though I worked there. I also submitted my resume to the unit manager where I wanted to work, so that probably pushed things along quicker for me.

A lot of hospitals have open houses where you can tour the facility. I would go to one of those and ask about specific units you are interested in, find out who the managers are and send in your resumes. I think that most HR departments will try to steer you in the direction of where they have the most openings, which may not be where you want to go.

Hope this helps.
