Hi all I was just wondering does anyone know of a sliding scale low income based child care center in ocean county..I am going to be starting in sept and still trying to get child care situated....Its hard ..Does anyone have any info on this would really appreciate it

I would go to the county office and see if they have any services that could help you out. Most counties in NJ do. I know here in Burlington County they have BCCAP which you have to apply for and they help set you up with qualified child care services. Also, try looking through the paper for people that offer at home child care services. They tend to be alot cheaper than most facilities. Just make sure to have a really good interview with the person that you choose. I found a place for my 18 mos son this way and the woman is phenomenal and he gets more attention than he did when he was in a formal setting. Explore all of your options and do your homework.

I agree with the above. When I was sending my daughter to an official daycare center, I was paying about $600 a month for 3/4 time (not full, not part). I put an ad in the paper and while I got hundreds of prospects, I found a woman in my town who was a british nanny and ran a daycare out of her home. She came with glowing references, she gives all her info so that I can deduct it on my taxes and she only takes a max of 6-7 kids. She takes them on trips, food is included (which was only $3.00 an hour!!!!) and she preps them all for kindergarten by making sure that they can write their name, know their numbers up to 20, the alphabet, colors, etc. My daughter was very prepared and the next baby we're having will go there too.
