I am planning a move to South Jersey probably to Burlington, Atlantic County any ideas on hospitals. I have no idea where to start my search. I was told I need to acquire employment first in order to have income verification.
There are alot of good hospitals in the SJ area...such as Cooper which has a great trauma center/ER, Our Lady of Lourdes also in Camden, Many in the more suburban areas....and of course Philadelphia is right across the bridge...many oppurtunities there. I had family as pts. at Cooper and friends as nurses and I hear nothing but good things. Good luck!
I've worked at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ as a temp RN and as a nursing instructor. They are understaffed in some areas, just like most hospitals. I didn't like med-surg but liked critical-care there. When Governor Corzine of NJ was injured last year in an auto accident, he was flown to Cooper instead of to a much closer hospital. Overall, it is a large university medical center teaching hospital with some really good units. I think it's a good place to start or continue your career.
I work at cooper, I haven't been there long but I am very happy with it.
just keep in mind that it is a teaching hospital. there are always students and residents everywhere.
being union is great 5 mo and I already have a nice raise.
all in all good place to work. people always seem impressed when I say I work at cooper.
