That's what the DELETE button is for. Sorry you took it personally. Perhaps you might ask yourself why you are so overly sensitive? Your BMI?

Joke quoted deleted. nilepoc.
Here you go...from a night nurse in OB...
A woman meets a man at a bar and they have sex.
She says to him after it's all over
"Wow I bet you are a CRNA (anesthesiologist):.
"Why yes !"this studdly man responds!
"And I bet you are really GREAT!"
"Well, I hate to brag, but yes, I am the best! How could you tell?"he said brimming w/ pride at his great technique.
"I practically slept the whole time and I really DIDN'T FEEL A THING!"

Yeah, your joke is rather a jab, but I hope you didn't mean it maliciously. After 14 years on nights, I can say us night gals tend to be a little fluffy. You know the whole cortisol, lack of sleep , metabolic thing. I am about 20 lbs. overweight now, though I exercise 5-7x/week. I am doing the Weight Watchers thing. We have no CRNA's that do OB at my job, just a bunch of plump, frumpy old anesthesiologists. They need W.W. more than me and move like they've had a sniff of the anesthesia themselves. If you really like the elephant joke, I guess your just a clueless arrogant man, so you're forgiven. BTW, w/ this attitude, I must ask... Have you ever thought of becoming a physician? Honestly, I know it's a joke, but us women are quite sensitive about our weight or the implication that we're lazy or slow. You wouldn't tell a Polish joke here, so maybe you ought keep a lid on your testostrone humour too!

Hey DEEPZ!!!!!!!!!!!I resent being called a fat OB nurse....

even tho I am......rofl.....

Now, others may not think this was so funny, however.....I think you should remember WHO may be reading these boards and use a bit of discretion here, deepz. That was a MAJOR faux pas, esp. for a "professional" like yourself.

Sorry, Deb. I can see some of our Ob docs, esp. laughing at the elphant joke, while they consider themselves OFF LIMITS for any type of humour. Do I think these guys (here on the board) really think this about all night nurses..Absolutely not. If my joke offended you, I am sorry. It was not meant to. It was just a little jab back at the men.

I think that joke fits the 'vulgar' category pretty nicely. I have just as warped a sense of humour as any other nurse, but, deepz, you have to learn: Women do NOT take kindly to jokes about their weight! It's no different from telling a tasteless Polish joke in front of a group of Poles.

I think an apology is in order.

i thought it was a good joke, and even more hilarious is how many people are taking it so personal. get over it and learn to take a joke.

it's so funny til you are the group being disrespected. Some things are better left unsaid, not only not to offend but to prevent oneself looking like a real buffoon.
