I need advice or wisdom on who and how to approach a CRNA that I can shadow. I currently work in CCU, where I have been for 2 years. Previously, I worked in the in-patient OR as a circulator, where I befriended a few CRNA's that gave me advice and encouragement in pursuing nurse anesthesia education and career. Should I approach those CRNA's or should I first consult with the Director of NA in the in-patient OR? Would it benefit me to shadow a CRNA who graduated from the NA program where I plan to apply?

Approach the Director and ask s/he to pair you up with a CRNA. It can't hurt to ask to be paired with one you've already met in the main OR.
