has anyone been pregnant during an anesthesist program?? can it be done?

It happens, but all the women I have known have had to "postpone" their education mid way and complete it later. What's wrong??? Can't decide whether to get pregnant or to go to school? Or was this unplanned?

There is a woman in my class now who had a baby last November and is due to have another one this December...second one was unplanned. We just started school in May so she found out she was pg just a couple of weeks before starting. She says it's really hard, but she is trudging through with the rest of us. She is scheduled to be induced the 1st day of our Christmas break and will come back with the rest of us (assuming everything goes well). All that said, I think someone in most classes do get pregnant, but I wouldn't advise it. Yes it can be done, but I don't think it would be fun.

I did it. I found out I was pregnant with my second before I entered the program, but decided to get as much of the program done before my son was born. It was hard, especially in the third trimester and dealing with clinicals. I don't recommend trying to get pregnant while in school, but if it happens it is possible. I have a friend who was pregnant in the program. She took two days off from school to have the baby and was back.

"reasonable" accomadations to facilitate someone who is having a child. Worst case you should be allowed to take a semester or two off from the program (which you could use to study up for the courses if necessary). I wonder what federal, and state laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act are applicable here. Schools should be sensitive (to an extent) to the fact that it is difficult for MOST women to become pregnant after age thirty six or there abouts. You can always complete school later (if necessary), but having a child is something for which no amount of money or career satisfaction can compensate.

thank you for all your responses...I am 29...want to do school now and have a baby now....choices choices, but maybe i'll do both....if i'm am lucky!
