Nurse Anesthetist Traineeship

Check the website below in June/July 03. More Federal monies should be reappropriated to fund this program for 2004. Also contact your legislators to refund program. Karen

Purpose: Support traineeships for licensed registered nurses enrolled as full-time students beyond the twelfth month of study in a master's nurse anesthesia program.

Eligibility: Schools of nursing, academic health centers and other public and private nonprofit entities, including faith-based organizations and community-based organizations, that provide registered nurses with full-time nurse anesthetist education and have evidence of earned pre-accreditation or accreditation status from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs are eligible to apply.

Application Deadline: November 15, 2002

FY 2003 Award Estimate: Approximately $1 million is expected to be available in FY 2003 to support about 71 awards. Average award is estimated to be $14,000 per year.

Estimated Project Period: One year
