Ok, I need your expert opinions please. Due to irresponsilbe behavior on my part a few years ago, I received a very low grade in a class (I had planned to withdraw from the class, but got the deadline mixed up). Anyway, I could retake the class in the second summer session this summer. It would change my cummulative GPA from a 3.71 to a 3.85. It is an easy class but pretty time consuming because it is a night course for six hours a week. On top of that class, I also have my capstone (I am graduating with my BSN in August) and work 32 hours a week. My question is, is it worth it to retake the class? Obviously, I would like to have the highest GPA possible, but I do you really think that the difference in a 3.7 and a 3.85 would affect my chances of getting into an anesthesia program? I am kind-of thinking that as long as I do well on the GRE and my interview, it won't matter either way. What do you guys think? BTW, my nursing GPA will be a 4.0 and my science GPA a 3.6. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Ami

Yeah, what class is it? I bombed o-chem and since it's a science class, you can bet I'm gonna retake it. If the class you bombed was basket weaving, I wouldn't worry about it!

As previously stated, it depends first on what type of class it was. Also, you should be given the opportunity to explain yourself to the committee. Being that you have a 3.7 GPA, I wouldn't be overly concerned unless it is a science class. Lastly, the best way to find out is to call the director and run it by s/he firsthand.

It is not a science class...it is introduction to interpersonal communication!

Nah....I don't think I would retake it unless it was a science class...your GPA's are great anyhow, I wouldn;t worry!!!
Since this topic has been brought up, would you all retake a science class you got a C in? Just wondering.,...

I don't think I would necessarily retake a science class I got a C in, unless I was absolutely positive I could get an A in it the second time around. Now, a class I got a D in (o-chem) I am DEFINITELY retaking, cause I'm sick of it pulling down my otherwise good GPA!

Interpesonal Communication = Basket Weaving.
Maybe retake it if you like to weave baskets.

If you are wanting to get into a CRNA program then I would re-take the class and get a higher grade and let your GPA go up. Just to make sure. I would hate for you not to get into the program because what if you took your test to get into the program and made the same as another person and there is only one slot left and it is you or someone else and you have a 3.7 and they have a 3.8..that would stink..I would take it.
