Question malpractice and liability

To practicing CRNA's..........................

I am writing an issue paper that addresses nursing anesthesia malpractice. Have collected numerous articles and good info from the aana website. Question to you: What is your take/personal perspective on where liability coverage & premiums were 10-15 years ago, where they are today and what trends are shaping the future?
Thanks in advance to all who respond.....................::

PS. I am 11 weeks into a program that combines didactic & clinical experience. 3 days a week in the OR/3 days of class - Steep learning curve but am loving nearly Q minute of it!!!!

Malpractice insurance rates were somewhat stable for the last 15 years until St. Paul and Marine stopped writing malpractice insurance for the health/medical fields. Since then there have been several companies that go into and out of the market. The rates this year with a new insurer (CNA) are higher than what I paid last year under St.Paul. I have never had a claim in over 43 years of practice.
