Have any of you had experience with the Kaplan GRE online prep course? I'd like to take the actual classes, but they won't fit in my schedule. I also want to study with something more than a book -- something more interactive and in depth. I really liked the Kaplan NCLEX prep course. The Princeton Review looks like it also offers a good GRE prep course.

Any recommendations for interactive/cumulative study aids? Thanks!!

I've been studying for the GRE w/ GRE book for Dummies. I haven't finished thus far, however, it keeps you reading as this kind of material is BOOORING in my opinion. The material in the book is good and there are helpful tips and guessing strategies. You can get one @ Borders or Barnes & Noble for about $17.00. As far as the Kaplan GRE, I have no knowledge on that.

I took the actual Kaplan GRE prep class. I felt like it was A LOT of money for such little review. The study mataterials that came with the course (vocab flash cards, book, math review sheet) were very helpful, but not worth the price of the class.

I took a GRE prep course at a community college. Also I completed the entire Kaplan workbook (it was also used in the course) and the CD rom which I found most helpful. I made my own flash cards with vocab, math laws and formulas. I also studied when I had the time so it fit into my schedule. Scored a 1260 on the GRE. I think paying large sums of money for stuff you can do on your own is a waste of money.

I took the GRE before the essay part was added. Took the Kaplan class 1 day a week for about 10 weeks (i think). It added about 300 points to my math according to their diagnostic test. Thought it was worth it. They teach lots of little tricks that test givers put out there.

Hello,

I used the Princeton review book for a little over a week and am glad I did.

I suggest studying for more than a week and have heard that by studying for amonth or by using the course can raise your Q and V scores by over 100 each.

My nubers were only 550v+530q+4.5aw, these were qualifying for the porgram that I was trying for but, the higher the better!

I have heard from professors that the course is THE way to go, and from others that self-guided study is the way to go. Either way, having a strategy and knowing HOW to take the test is in your favor.
