Response Jose

I'm planning on working 3 shifts per month.

By the way-is anyone planning to work during school? If so, how much?

Look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall.

I don't know if anybody quit but you do stay in a hotel in San Diego for a short while to do clinicals at the Balboa Naval Hospital. The cost of the Hotel is covered in tuition I believe.

We do have rotations in San Diego. Everyone goes to Balboa Naval for one month to do regionals. Kaiser San Diego is also a rotation but not everyone goes through there. Either way the school pays for a hotel on the nights you are required to be in San Diego.

With regards to working... Good luck with that. I would play it by ear and see how everything else goes before commiting to anything. Very few people in my class work and those that do, don't work very often. Take out a few extra loans and enjoy the little down time you will have.

Thanks for the advice. Is the commute for clinical as bad as people say it is? Do they consider where you live when assignments are made? Ameer

I just finished a great rotation but had to commute 120 miles a day for 3 months; the rotation before that was 100 miles a day for 2.5 months.

So now I'm looking at Pasadena or surrounding areas... Does anyone know which areas are good for families with kids. We need to find a relatively affordable community with good elementary schools--if possible.

Hi bjon,

I live in Anaheim Hills, the schools are great there. I don' know how far it will be but it's 5 minute to the Anaheim Kaiser on lakeview st. It's 30 minutes to Riverside, 45 to Moreno Valley, Loma Linda, an a couple of other places for clinical going Inland.(against traffic)To LA it's about an hour. How many kids do you have?
