Just took the boards....

...and i'm feeling COMPLETELY AWFUL.

i'm fighting back the urge to cry.

i studied for over 3 weeks...and feel like i made some dumb mistakes...ON THE EASY QUESTIONS.

the computer shut off at 100 questions...but i'm not convienced i didn't totally flunk this exam.

i mean how bad would i have to have done to fail at 100 questions??????

Re: Just took the boards....

I think EVERYONE is absolutley convinced their is on way they passed when they leave the testing center. The fact is 80% or more of the people that take the boards pass the first time. Those people who do not pass the first time take it again. It may feel like it but its not the end of the world and with hard work you will pass. Feel proud that you have taken the test. Good Luck!

Even if they don't its not the end of the world. You just take it again. I am sure you did great. Good Luck! Feel proud of yourself.

Re: Just took the boards....

You are not alone. Being that the test is designed to adapt the questions to a 50% correct/incorrect ratio it is only natural that we walk out of there feeling like we did awful. All you can do is breathe deep, cross your fingers, and do the dreaded wait dance.
:monkeydan ce:
When I was waiting for my results I kept telling myself that if I didn't pass I will be as gracious as I possibly can muster, begin a new study plan, and just do it again if that is what I have to do. I would try to trust that there is a reason for this. I had to prepare myself for not taking it as a personal attack on my abilitiies. I could only handle the wait by preparing for the worst in a positive way and trying to stay neutral.

But on day 3 I found I passed!

The truth is MOST people pass. You most likely did too. Keep us posted.

I haven't met a nurse yet who didn't feel like you do right now after taking their exams. Hang in there.

Re: Just took the boards....

Hi Krinkles,

I noticed that you already have RN by your name. Possibly this is a sign of a foregone conclusion that you passed! We all had that feeling of not knowing if we'd passed or not. However, giving yourself the three weeks to study and your recognizing some things you might have answered differently on this major test, well, I figure its only a few questions anyway..you more than likely did ok...I really I have a hunch. Others told me this same sort of thing and then lo and behold they ended up with those two capital letters by their names.
Your concern is our concern too; remember, I am counting on you to pass so I can go on break! You know someone told me there's a nursing shortage!

Re: Just took the boards....

A high percentage of my classmates felt like they failed after walking out of the test and all of them have passed so far. I think it's natural to feel this way because there's a lot of anxiety and pressure when you're taking your boards. I'm sure you did fine and I'm going to give you an early congratulations.
