I am very interested in becoming a CRNA, but am curious if there is a demand for CRNAs on the west coast. Also, is it difficult to obtain employment as an inexperienced new graduate?

I'm here in Washington state and there is plenty of jobs. Interestlngly, in Seattle, which has historically been a more MD town, both Harborview and Children's in Seattle are advertising.

Seattle area hospitals have plenty of staff nurse positions. Check with any of the major ones, UW ( University of Washington), Harborview, Swedish, Overlake, Northwest, Evergreen, Providence, Virginia Mason, Children's to name a few. I work at the U - great place - come on out!

Forgot to answer the question - yes the West Coast uses CRNA's - and I have seen positions available.

In California, Kaiser employs a huge number of CRNA's and new graduates I believe are now making 140k (Former co-worker just finished up and that's what he was offered at Kaiser in Sacramento.).

UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento also uses CRNA's but also has anesthesia residents.
