I am a RN and I hope to enter the CRNA school.
Could you tell me how to improve my GPA? I have a mind to study again by transferring to University or Community college.

Please let me know what should I do?

You should IMHO go back and take some classes to show that you are a different kind of student now.

I have gone to three different colleges.

The first school is where I shouldn't have gone.

1.95 GPA

Went back became a nurse, and just about doubled my GPA in my second school and continued that trend witht the third school.

Now with over 190 hours of classes I have raised my GPA to over 3.2, with the first school figured in. Another thing that helps, is to retake some of your classes with the worst grades.

You probably need to pull that GPA up a bit. That said, I would retake classes like chemistry statistics, & Pharm. Having that info fresh in your brain will make your first semester easier. Good luck.

Hello again...I have another question for you now. You have been so helpful!! What school did you have that low gpa? Was it a community college. Only because I am now at a community college and have a 3.0 but my nursing pre-reqs are a little over a 2.0. Do CRNA schools look at nursing pre-reqs or just the ADN and BSN gpa. Thanks for your input!

That ultra low gpa was in a university. Specifically The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. I was studying computer science. I did fine in the CS stuff, but the math about killed me. As did physics and chemistry which both included calculus content.

When I interviewed, I found that they looked at all of my grades. But they symobolicaly threw out my first transcript, ( by literally throwing it in the middle of the table). I believe they did this because of my high GRE score and the better GPA's that showed I was now a more serious student.

I actually wrote an e-mail to you nilepoc about my classes and my gpa. My chemistry, statistics, are actually good grades. I got a B in all chemistries, I got an A in statistics but as soon as I got to the nursing classes then things started going south. I can only see my gpa for nursing and it is 2.52. When I first started going to school in TX I had a 3.5 gpa.
Now, I tried looking at all my grades and the grades from CT are not showing and neither is my GPA. The only GPA I see is the one where all the nursing courses are listed and that's where I'm getting that 2.52. I'm leaving this place as fast as I can (my husband is being transferred either to FL or back to CT). How can I re-take certain courses if I'm not going to be near my current school?
Also, Does a critical care unit count as experience to enter CRNA school? I'm actually thinking of getting 2-3 years of experience (even though the school only requires 1 year).

P.S. by the way, thanks to all because reading this string of messages helped me to understand a lot of stuff I needed to know. By the way, what is a good book for Anesthesia pharmacology?

Hotomalis, you need to retake the courses that you specifically did poorly in. Or take even harder classes to prove to admissions committiees that you can handle the work. Since you did poorly in nursing classes, I would suggest taking a few general MSN courses like pathophys, pharm, Intro. to Advanced Practice Nursing, etc. Call up your local university that offers an MSN program and ask them if you can take some classes part-time as a non-matriculated student. Working in a critical care unit is actually REQUIRED to gain admission to CRNA school-- most schools want strictly ICU experience, but some will accept ER at a Level I trauma center, or PACU where the patients don't go directly to the unit, etc.
