I have a friend that was applying to SUNY Downstate Medical Center in NY, recently told me. They are not accepting anymore student for atleast a year due to the probation placed upon them by The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. This does not surprise me at all. I went to this school back in the mid eighties. The experience was excellent due to the fact that it's a major urban medical center with a heck of a lot going on. As far as the school goes it was rife with favoritism, quotas and cronyism. A wild two years to say the least Ed
