I've been wait listed from my desired ADN program but my local CC offers a 10 month anesthesia assistant program. Since I want to be a CRNA in the long run do you think its worth my time to take these courses?

10 months?, do you mean anesthesia tech? anesthesia assistant is a little more involved than ten months, if it is anesthesia tech, that wouldnt be so bad to do while going to nursing school, in my opinion, get used to the surroundings, procedures etc.

It was mostly for the experience and references for when I apply to CRNA school inthe future. I figured it would make sense since I won't be going to nursing school for a little while and I could be an anesthesia tech will in nursing school as previously suggested.Maybe?

The experience in the OR and with anesthesia providers would be good, but...remember that you need to work as an RN for a least a year in an ICU environment. I dont know if the anesthesia tech job would help with getting that RN position, it might. Just something to consider.

I don't know about your area, but where I live you can get hired as an Anesthesia Tech with paid on the job training. This might be something you want to look into before you start the program.

All valid points I'm taking into consideration. Thanks a lot for you're perspectives. I didn't know hospitals did that for anes. techs. I'm definately going to look into it. There are so many hospitals around here, one of them has to offer that program.
