What can anyone tell me about Ranken Jordan. I saw an ad in the paper that they are hiring. I checked out their website and it seems like a really neat facility. Does anyone work there or has anyone been there that can tell me more about it? I'm thinking I'm going to take a tour but just wanted an inside scoop prior to doing that. What is the work environment like? Is the work enjoyable? etc... I'm going to assume they pay the same as every other hospital in this area. Any info would be much appreciated.

Re: Ranken Jordan

Hello, We had clinicals there and I simply loved it. It is a very small "hsopital" but the children are wonderful. I think they pay a little less than the other big hospitals around but I am not sure about that. Anyway, I really enjoyed it there. The one thing I like the most was that every single person really cared about every single patient. They don't offer tuition loan repayment and that keeps a lot of new grads with loans from applying there. Good Luck

Re: Ranken Jordan

A former neighbor worked a shift there and it was HORRIBLE. It was a long time ago, 11-7, the only other nurse in the building was a staff nurse. Friend was Agency, first time working there, not a true Peds nurse and the staff nurse would not help her at all. Friend made med error due to totally messed up Kardex and chart and staff nurse would not help her try to figure it out, thankfully no negative consequences except she was devastated and made a "Do not send". Staff nurse, presumably, had no negative results. Maybe it's better now. It could have happened anywhere.

I have a friend working 3-11 there and she loves it.
