nurse licensure compact

Hi! I would like to hear how nurses from Mo. feel about the nurse licensure compact. Are you for or against it?

Re: nurse licensure compact

I am all for it-though am leary about what issues there will be if passed-there have to be certain regulations and it would be interesting to know more about that. I am not going to stay in MO so for me, this would be great (assuming the next state is part of it too!)

I am for it to. I plan on moving to another state eventually. I am concerned how this would affect our nurses who live near the state lines though.

I think it's a fantastic idea! It would work really well for places like St. Louis where people work in Missouri but live in Illinois. However, what about states in the compact that require CE for license renewal? Since Missouri has no CE requirement, would we be OK to practice in other compact states that do have the requirement? Just a thought....

Maybe that is something you should ask the MO State Board about....

To date, I have not heard anything about Illinois being in on the Compact bit.

Illinois is on the list for possible or pending legislation, according the the link you posted earlier. Hopefully it will pass!

Re: nurse licensure compact

For it. Isn't California the only state with a CE requirement unless you are certified?

Re: nurse licensure compact

I'm all for it considering I live 10 miles from a boarding state that does participate (Arkansas).....

However, I heard the news a few weeks ago that this had all been tabled and Missouri wouldn't be a compact state anytime soon....Bummer.
