MCC Orientation

I know the orientation is at 1 pm tomorrow, but I misplaced my letter telling me the room and building (not a good way to start). I've called the school but I keep getting voicemail services up there. If anyone can let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: MCC Orientation

See you there. I'm excited, although from some of the posts from years past, we might be disappointed. I understand that the information that gets shared in this forum is as good as or even better than what you get at orientation. Guess we'll have to wait and find out. I intend to take good notes. Then we will all chat about it tomorrow night.

Take it easy .....Hoot

Re: MCC Orientation

You know what I came out of that orientation with? An awe of the amount of people sitting in that room that had earned a coveted spot in Macomb's program but had no clue what it entailed . People didn't realize there are hundreds of dollars of texts to buy, a uniform to buy, a physical to get, titers and drug screen to have done, current CPR certification, a nurse pack to buy, etc. I sat there just amazed at the lack of knowledge people had about the program in general. Hopefully you guys will come out of there knowing something new and exciting about the program, something you can't read on the Macomb website .

Re: MCC Orientation

yeah but if you compare the prices at macomb to university credits...it's peanuts. I wish my undergrad degree was so cheap.

The sad thing is it's costing me more for childcare than tuition!

Re: MCC Orientation

I thought the orientation was helpful. Macomb really seems to offer a lot of help for success. I hope to start in October. I have my prereqs done and ranked in the 40's. Anyone that started last year, did you get your request time?

What type of help do you mean?

I requested to start in January and was able to (ranked high enough to start in August but wanted to finish Micro first) You may find yourself starting in August if you ranked just outside of 30.

Re: MCC Orientation

It isn't 'easy' as say anatomy, but after finishing the first semester - it really wasn't that bad - sometimes boring

That's good to hear. I've talked to a couple of people in the program and they said the same thing. At orientation they brought in a couple of current students who complained about not being able to get their laundry done and not seeing their husbands or kids. I wanted to break out my violin and play them a sad song. I'm sure it's intense and a lot of work but if you can't fit a 5 minute break into your marathon of studying to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer that's on you. I'm sure I'll be able to do the laundry just fine.
