HFCC students

Hi
Any HFCC nursing students? I'm currently working on my pre-req's for the program. So far I've heard mostly positive comments, who to take, etc.
Was just wondering, what hospitals are clinicals usually held at?

Thanks!

Chandra

Re: HFCC students

If you want to get the best education possible for your money then take Dr. Turner-Radtke for A&P (BIO 233&234).

Re: HFCC students

I took Dr. Rintz for the A&P's because they are on the weekend but I have heard good/bad things about Turner/Radke. I've heard she's a wonderful teacher but she can treat her students like disobedient children. I have Pharmacology in the Fall and then I start in Fall '07. If you have any questions please talk to Jane (michelle) Zeid, she's an excellent counselor. She's very good at quickly responding to urgent questions via email.
Good Luck!

Re: HFCC students

I also have Ah 120 in the fall and I am taking Wimmer (Mon. eve.) which I heard is ok. In the Winter I have Dr Rintz for AP II on Saturdays. Many do not like him but I do.

From what I understand you cannot fall below a 80% average. I've heard many things about the program and some stories are indeed scary but I think you will get what you put into it. There are many single mom's, people who work f/t and they pass so having a positive attitude and a strong will and that should be just fine. If you have any questions call Michelle Zeid in counseling.

P.S. I have heard that starting in Winter is rough because you go all year round and do not get that much needed summer break so please strongly consider starting in fall 07. You can postpone for one year.

I had Rintz for 233 (weekends only) - I liked him but some don't.
I have Palaski for 234 - I have yet to take a test but he is great so far and answers questions in lab!
I had Dr. Wimmer for AH 120 and his tests are hard but he gives alot of room for a better grade. And we only had a 1.5 lecture instead of the allotted 3 hrs. Does not cover med calc dosages.
I have heard Turner-Radke really prepares u for nursing.

In NS, u don't get to pick your teacher or clinical setting so just hope for the best. We aren't supposed to name names on this site so....there are hard teachers but u have to muddle thru either way!
