Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

I misunderstood what school u were starting in April I thought you were accepted to the one here in Detroit. The name of the school is called The Detroit Health Career Center which is under the blanket of Oakland University every class that i have completed the certificate says Oakland University. The reason I'm saying this so you will know that it's not a bootleg school because the word Detroit is in it. So ur nursing diploma will say Oakland University which is excellent. The phone is 313 309-3415 they will explain everything to you and the steps you need to take. Everest Institute has a 12 month Lpn program to which is located in Southfield. There program just started in Jan of this year \the cost is 27,000 so there's another option to. There are still openings available because alot of ppl aren't aware of the school move fast and see if you can get in. Let me know what happens.

Ok, I just wanted to chime in here, but I take offense to, "bootleg and the word Detroit", what do you mean by that! As if what, because Detroit has something to do with it, its not a good school. There are more so called "legit" but on the real "bootleg" schools outside of the city of Detroit. You really need to watch what you say, or write, don't blame Detroit for everyone elses short comings, or stop blaming Detroit for everything that doesn't work in the state of Michigan. People just think that they can say anything about this city and don't know what the hell they are talking about, so unless you live in this city, I suggest you keep your derrogatory statements to yourself!!

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

Thank you so much for that information I really need that...do you think the school is open net week? I hope so this will cut down on a lot of stress. My number is 313-412-7788, I would like to ask you a few more questions if you don't mind. I will not hold you long. Time is of essence so I need to get this done ASAP. I really really appreciate this....Oh and FYI this is another LPN program located in Flint MI and I cannot for the life of me find the information that I recieved when I went up there. I opt out of that option because they were not accredidate which meant you would have to take out a personal loan and your credit score had to be 650 or above to qualify. Please contact at your earliest and once again.

You sound like you want to kick my a** there is a way to get ur point across. I really shouldn't even be taking the time out to explain myself to u but I will. I have been getting so many questions asked regarding it being in detroit and if it is bootleg so what i did to cut down on the confusion is nipped it in the bud so I wouldn't have to defend the school constantly. If u read my post I clearly state that its an excellent school...but instead of noticing the positive you strive on the negative aspect.. that you misconstrued. I have lived in detroit all my life not just in detroit but in the hood so please dont come on me with that I want some attention attitude. But I will apologise if you were offended you took the whole statement wrong

Oh, pardon me, no I don't want to kick your a@@! I guess we are misunderstanding each other, didn't mean to take my frustrations out on you and I do apologize for that but since you live in the city, I definately shouldn' have to tell you how people are always judging our city but the minute something good is happening in it, everyone wants to try and flock to it. Like this program and telling people about, and you having to explain simply because its in the city. If they don't like, because its in "Detroit" then they can go elsewhere. Wasn't trying to be negative or jumb all over you, but as you can see, Im a little frustrated with people constantly putting this city down. As if crime doesn't happen outside the city, please.
Again, I do apologize and I wish you well on your nursing journey.

I appreciate that, thanks. On a much lighter note, looks like you have already started the program? How do you like it so far. I'm all set to start it but since its during the day, I can't quit my job, bills and all. I was hoping that they would start an evening program.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

I am thinking about checking out this program. Does anyone know if they accept people with previous healthcare experience? (I'm a medical assistant). I am currently taking pre reqs at WCCCD, but I don't think my gpa will be good enough to apply for the rn program this year. What are the options for lpn to rn programs, and how long are the programs usually? Any help would be great! Thanks, Melissa

I love it... what keeps me going is knowing that I will be finish with this part of my schooling in November. Its very accelerated but its worth it. I truly understand you on the whole afternoon class situation. When I was working a 9 to 5 I never could attend nursing school for the simple fact that most clinicals are during the day. When I got laid off I said well one good thing came out of this I can now attend school. LOL You should really look into this program because they do have afternoon clinicals that start at 3pm and maybe you could rotate ur schedule around that. I dont know if thats feasible for you or not. What school are you looking to attend?
