Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

Is this program only for Detroit residents? I live in Wayne County but not in Detroit. I would not be able to attend, if you have to live in Detroit.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

The teachers are excellent they really are concerned about your education.
I'm not for sure about how difficult it is to get in the program now. But I am hearing that if u have any previous healthcare experience they are not accepting ppl with it. Go to the orientation and let me know how it goes.

The school doesn't have a website as of yet. But they do have informational sessions every week and a commercial thats is broadcast on channel 10 comcast. Again it's called the Detroit Healthcare Career Center which is in partnership with Oakland University.

THanks
I'm at Baker College of Auburn Hills. It is more like a 10-11 month program. We are half way through now I will be done August 21. I did all my pre-req's for RN as well; that is what I wanted to do(RN) but I did not get in to Baker's RN program. I did make it into the LPN and when I graduate I'm going to OCC to do the transition program.
If you have any questions please feel to ask.
Oh if you are looking to get in to the LPN program at Baker I think apps must be turned in by June. You can call to get exact date, I know it is pretty soon though.
Goos luck.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

I start class April 7th....I was suppose to start July 7th but they called me with an opening. The test was a little challenging and you have to go through a series of things before being excepted. I am not exactly sure how many they except but I can tell you that If when you go to the informational meeting and at that time you see that you are serious; I encourage you to do everything immediately because they choose on a first come first serve bases.....On thing that''s good is that they have 3 or 4 enrollments a year....Good Luck

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

msrenee0320,
Thanks for the e-mail address. I did call and I have appointment Tuesday to go to the informational seminar. I was hoping the web-site would let you know what requirements are needed. But I will find out once I get there. If you could shed some light on what is required to get into the program, I would greatly appreciate it. And thanks again for the web-site. I finally feel like I have options.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

Thanks msrenee0320..The program is for ppl who income is no more than 45,000 per year. The grant money is funded through the no worker left behind. I'm so happy for you because living in michigan and driving to toledo could get real stressful. They also provide you with a forty dollar stipened per week and believe me it comes in handy with gas being so high. Hopefully we'll get to meet when you start class. Good luck!

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

I work for Chrysler and I think I made about $47,000 I'm not exactly sure but If you could get me the information to this program here in MI I would really appreciate it. Although I start schoold in toledo OH April 7th I would like to speak with someone to see if I am eligible to stay here. This would help me out tremendously becuase I really don;t have a support system. But I will succeed with lots of prayer. I have a 9 year old and this is my concern......Please provide me with information regarding this program here.....Thanks in advance
