Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

My sister in law has just started a program like that up in bay city at the hospital.. They put you through the MA program and if you do good and "prove" your self then you go for lpn all within a year.

Do you happen to know the hours of classes? Is it strictly daytime? Also do you have a direct link? I'm having trouble looking up the program. thanks

Where are you taking your pre-req's?
If you have pretty decent grades and score at least a 72 on the hesi I don't see why you wouldn't get into the LPN @ Baker. I think the lowest GPA they let in was a 3.6.
Def. check other schools, but I really don't think you will have a problem getting in.
Good luck and let us know.
I am pretty sure the Hesi and admission packet is required around mid-june, at least that is what it was when I applied. I found out less than a month later I was accepted. I knew the score of my Hesi the same day. It wasn't too bad.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

I have been research for almost 3 years now and while I was researching I had to retake some science classes because they were 5 years old. I previously attended Baker College Auburn Hills campus to retake these classes. I was excepted at PSI last May but was still undecided in whether I was making the right choice. The only other LPN 12 month program is in Flint but it's not accredited as of yet.

I will be attending PSI this July 7 and I will have completed the program by June 24, 2009.

I am still at little nerves because I have a feeling that something is going to open up in Detroit really soon.

PSI tuition is $16,786 and Brown Mackey is $24,000

I wish you all the best in pursuing your degrees

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

Hello Morgan, yes I've been accepted into a 12 month program at PSI-Professional Skills Institute in Toledo OH. I start class July 7 and end June 24, 2009. I was excepted back in May 2007 but I wasn;t sure what I was going to do about my current job. I have been looking all over and they actually have a school here in Flint MI but it is not accredidated as of yet. I am on the waiting list (even though this is not the correct term they say) at Baker and Davenport LPN Programs. My deceision to do LPN oppose to just entering into a RN is that I work for Chrysler and I just took the buyout because I knew that I had been excepted into a program so I figured that If I go here and do the 12 months and land a job (which I will) then I can finish the RN excelerated course while working. I have most pre-reqs done also for the RN which I am sure they will add something else by the time my year is up. it has been a very long and sometimes frustrating rode but I will not give up until I am done. Please feel free to ask more...

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

There's a program in Detroit at 455 Fort St. it's only 10months and its very accelerated it's called the Detroit healthcare career center and it's sponsored throught the workforce development and Oakland University. I was one of the students that was recognized at the mayors state address this past tuesday. So the school is very nice state of the art equipment... clinicals are done at DMC.

Re: Finally Here 12 MONTH LPN PROGRAM IN DETROIT

Do you live in michigan? I was received information yesterday regarding the LPN program in ohio- but the name of the school is Toledo school of Practial Nursing. I don't think this is the same place? Does your school have a web site? if so let me know so I can look into it?

Thanks
