Did you take the NET at HFCC? If so, there are resources (and people) in the Learning Lab who can help you prepare for the next one.
You really, really have to be able to discern what an inference is, what the main idea is, all that, when you read the paragraph. Sometimes, the paragraph itself is dull, dull, dull and contributes to your not doing well.
I failed the reading portion when I took the NET the first time. I got the black bear reading selection, ugh. The next time, my reading selection was on infection, MUCH more interesting to a nursing student!!
Go back and study some more, making sure you know exactly what each idea means, then take it again. Really work on it, because if you fail three times at HFCC, you're out.
