Not all classes count toward the GPA they use for the application to the program. I dropped Comp1 because I had issues. I was newly pregnant, my 10 yo daughter had died 1 year previously, and it was my first term there. So 4 weeks in, I dropped because every story they wanted us to read had someone dying in it, and I was just too emotional. If I knew what I know now, I would have not dropped it, and just stuck with it. I lose a point because I dropped it, but a lower score in the class wouldn't have counted against me because the class isn't figured in the classes used to figure your GPA on your application to the nursing program.
So while it is a prereq, not all prereq matter score-wise.
Sorry to hear about your loss, I can understand how the class would be hard for you it is pretty morbid.
This is my point about them, how come they do not tell you that the class doesn't hurt you and that a lower grade is better than repeating. It's like the longer than can keep you doing the pre-reqs the better.

Wanna hear something funny...
My first semester I made the Dean's list and I was so geeked, then I found out about the high GPA needed to get into the program. So, it is not so special because probably everyone trying for the program is probably on the dean's list also. Duh...lol.
I even went and took a pic with my phone of my name on the list posted at school. This semester I was like, um great.

LOL I felt like that too. I always go and look at it to see my name up there... I made the president's list this time. So I kind of feel special again... LMBO!!!
One of my friends is now taking A&P 2, Pharm, Path and her computer classes. So that is 15 credit hours for the first 5 weeks and 15 credit hours the second 5 weeks. Total that is 17 credit hours. I can't believe they wouldn't let you do it.
What are you taking this time? I have Pharm and Path. Taking the Pathophysiology at the AH campus because I heard the instructor at Clinton Twp was awful.

I am in my 3rd semester, 1st full time. I have pre-algebra, Comp II, A&P 1 and A&P lab. I wanted to take the oral communication also.
I think maybe because I am just now getting into the harder classes and they want to see if I can handle it.

Boy did you make a smart decision! The Path teacher is awful. I am taking Pharm, Holistics, Comp II and Inf. Can't wait for this to be over!!

First, Shannon, I had speech and comp2 last time, and with A&P2 I would advise against it too. There is as much writing in speech as there is in comp2. Who do you have for A&P2?
Jabramam, who do you have for holisitcs? We had to do a 10 page paper, last semester. I have Pharm this time on Monday nights. The guy at AH is really great so far. Several people complained about the path teacher, so I switched out of it. I am so glad I did.
Just this last term. I am just hoping to be one of the ones to get in. I am really scared that I won't.

What instructor did you take for patho at AH campus? I had a AWESOME teacher.
I loved pretty much all my instructors at AH, so if anyone has more pre-req's to take let me know and I will tell you who to take and who to stay away from.

CB, I have Steven Sucaet for Path (I think that is how you spell it, I may be mistaken). So far I really like him.
I had Dr. Tominello at CT for my A&Ps and he was really great too. I have Neri for Pharm. I can't find any feedback on her, but she seems like she will be a good choice as well.

I have Jane Cox for A&P 1 and Pat Sadler for the lab. I have only had 1 class with them but they seem really nice. Jane sat down with me to schedule my classes a while back. She was very helpful when a lot of the others just said no...lol.

I also have Neri for Pharm. I think I will like her. She seems very fair and interesting to listen to. What night do you have? I am Wednesday.
