Well, the Hesi at Macomb is definitely easier. Unfortunately you would have to wait until next year to take it. They are all full for this year. Also Macomb does not require any math prereqs. I am at Baker now, and have a 4.0 so far. That will change after this quarter. I am struggling with Algebra. So anyway, Macomb is easier as far as prerequs. but they also have a lot more people applying, so the competition is more. Have you checked into Baker yet?

The hesi test is not bad at all.
For the RN prgram you take the NET at Baker, the LPN requires the Hesi. As far as the RN program goes, they require as close to a 4.0 as possible. I had a 3.9 and did ok on the NET (not awesome but not bad either) Anyways I did not get in. However I did get into the LPN program with no probs. Have you thought of doing that then doing a bridge to RN?

If I wanted to apply to the LPN program at Baker, when could I do it. Can I apply to both the RN and LPN at the same time. I am taking the NET in the spring in Clinton Twp. Also, did you have to take MTH 111 for one of your prerequisites. I am in it now and afraid it will ruin my GPA. How long is the LPN to RN program? Does Baker offer it or will you have to go somewhere else. Sorry for so many questions.

You would not be able to go for both RN and LPN, because you have to change your major with the academic office. But you could try, what you would do is submit your packet for the RN program first, then change your major to LPN and apply to that one to and wait for the letters. As far as the RN program have you already taken the NET? I know that is coming up soon, you should call and find out when to take it before it is to late.
As far as the LPN it is coming up in May/June to apply and take Hesi. Remind me of what Math 111 is? I can't remember. The only math I had to take was Algerbra

Are you taking it at Auburn Hills? I had an amazing teacher, I learned alot from her. I'm not the greatest at math either but she really taught well and I "got it". If there was other things that I couldn't get after class I went to the Learning Center and had a tutor to work with me one on one. You should see if you could have a tutor it could definatley help. Good luck

Re: Baker College NET test

I went yesterday to schedule my day to take the NET for April 21. There is a lot more to it than just GPA. There are bonus points for not repeating any classes, and I think that could really hinder attempts to get in.

From the information I got from the Nursing Department yesterday, they said that there were questions regarding A&P and other medical terms on the test. This must be something they just recently added.

It is definitely not necessary to get a 4.0 on your gpa. In fact, because it is based on a point system, it is better if you got a B- in A&P than if you repeated it and lost the bonus point. The B-will only lower your total score by a fraction of a point, and the repeat will lower your score by a whole point. Also your GPA is figured on only 10 classes in CT. Speech, Psy, Introductory Algebra, and Comp 2. Those are figured X1. A&P I and II, Micro, Pharm, Holistics, Path are X2. Everything else is disregarded. Unless you have a withdrawl. The score of the class doesn't count but the repeat counts against you.

I have considered the LPN program as a fall back in case I don't get into the RN program at Baker, but I am really just hoping to avoid that route and get into the program the first try.

Anyone else scheduled to take the NET this spring?? I am curious where we all stand on points before we take the NET.
