Hello. I have an Associated Degree in Applied Science w/ a certificate in mental health care. Do I have to get an associates in nursing, either lpn or rn, or can I go right to a bachelors in nursing/rn? Please advise. thanks

Welcome! U need to see a counselor at the schools u are interested as they all have different requirements. If u decide to pursue an ADN, u probably have most of the pre-req's done and it requires a NET test (nursing entrance test) to get u on the wait list. Most of the community colleges offering an ADN have a 1-2 year wait. If u pursue a BSN, u will have more pre-req's to take but u might finish quicker. Peruse the college websites to get some general nursing program info and then make an appt. to see a counselor. Hope this helps!

Hello I am new to this.. but here I go I to have an AAS. would like to go for an RN degree... I am thinking I will have to start over. I have called davenport university the person I talked to just asked qiuck Q?? I asked if training for an RN. When would it start??? HE said every 7 weeks??? I find that hard to believe. I have found also found a school in findly ohio It will get me a LPN class starting every month. $250 a creit hour about 60 creits in all to finish then find a lpn to rn program.

i am would like to ask you have you found any more info to share with me??

I am lil confused about your post. If u have an associates degree (AAS?)already than most likely u have completed most of the gen ed classes and some of the pre-req's. Do u want to pursue an ADN or BSN? $250 per credit hr is steep! It's way cheaper at WCCC, HFCC, Schoolcraft and OCC for an ADN program. And any classes at Davenport will be costly too. Schoolcraft has an LPN program. And they as well as HFCC have a program that has LPN's become an ADN. But definitely look at the colleges I stated websites for their info and then speak to a counselor. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Look into Owens Community College, located in Toledo, Ohio. 99% pass rate on the nclex. Small enough class rooms....the local hospitals would rather have an Owen's grad that a U of T grad. Ohh...I don't work there...just an alumni.
