Trust me when I say, that when someone says they think HFCC's nursing program is easy because it's at a community college and they are going to cakewalk through it, I am taking that person's words with a grain of salt. Because I know from experience that that person's ego is gonna be knocked about a dozen notches down. Have a nice day.

Re: Anyone In Henryford Hospital Nursing Program

back to topic.

As far as I know, the program at the hospital is for employees only. Not sure whether they accept students from HFCC. I know the instructor for the hospital program. She's very good, willing to help you understand something if you don't understand it. She is Ms. B. I recommend her for Med/surg especially. I know she teaches fundamentals too.

Yes i believe and understand what your saying but, my thing is that has nothing to do with u, me , or them let them say whatever they feel u never know nursing school may be a cakewalk for that person just because it wasn't or isn't a cakewalk for u, me or them.
I mean it as simple as this, you guys don't know who that is and what they are capable of on the other end of the net. For all u guys know that could be a wiz on the other end. All i'm saying is that u guys never know.
because it is very possible that nursing school could be a cakewalk for that person.

Guy like I said have fun stop taking everything so offensive

Is nursing school a cakewalk for you? Just curious. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Which is why I was stating mine.

I've seen Ms. T really go off on a student in the middle of clinical. It was not fun. In peds I did poorly on the first test, she specifically told me "I know you can do better on the next test and if you don't, I will kick your butt". Needless to say, I did much better on the second test. My eval for the clinical was very good in the end. She said I grew a lot.

Actually, I have a ton of affection for them both. If you're not full of yourself, they will bend over backwards for you. I will miss them tremendously. In fact, I think CandyCane should have them both, since everything will be such a breeze anyway.

I actually do like Ms. T. She said I was good with the babies. She did yell at me at clinical once. But she did that to every student. Ms. B was great. She helped me understand drug calc. I have tremendous amounts of respect for both.

My sense of humor is just fine, thanks!

So is my sense of loyalty. If I want to counter a misconception, I absolutely will. I am tremendously loyal to HFCC and I'll correct an inaccuracy when I see it. Feel free to read. Or not. But please don't chide me, dear. I do know a smidgen about the program.

Re: Anyone In Henryford Hospital Nursing Program

I know I am a little late in the game but here is the info I have on the hospital program. They have 60 spots to fill. they choose hospital employees first. it is a very intense program because you work and you get no break. Next they do take students from the college, but the only one I know that was asked to come and interview was a 4.0 student and she declined based on the fact that there is no break AND you have to commit to the hospital for three years past graduation. getting out: you can but if you do you have to pay back the money for the education you have received mid way or after you graduate, a broken contract is a payment.
hope that helps.

Yes i know i'm a little late also but, yes i aactually started the program at the hospital dor two weeks then i quit it do to the fact that they had many stipulations to their program and with them paying for the program. Which alot of people don't know about. It was simply just tooo much they expected of u and for any reason if u didn't comply u had to pay the money back. If u failed a class then u were kicked out and u had to pay the money back not only that if u were to get kicked out u had only 10 days to give them back there money. I mean for some they might not care but, for me it wasn't that serious u have to know all of the rules and stipulations to understand what i'm talking of.
And to top it off they were not flexible at all as far as pm clinicals u know. u are in class from 8am to 5pm mon thru wed and sometimes 8am to 8pm
i mean the hours are just too long. Don't get me wrong had it fit my schedule and it wasn't so many stipulations i would have gone thru it. I wasn't that desperate, especially since i'm alreday established with a good job soo i just told the dean at the school that i would start at the college in Aug like i originally planned
It is great that the program is at the hospital so i do tell all who can do it and don't care about the stipulations to do it
And another thing was that i wasn't abale to work contingent for the 3 years once finished with the program it is simply alot for people to think about
If u can do it, and it fits your needs GO FOR IT!!!!! because u will definitely do well they offer all the help in the world to get u thru.
GOOD LUCK TO ALLL AND FOR U WHO WILL BE IN, IN AUG SEE U THERE
