ADVICE Just Found out That I'm Pregnant
|
|
Hey guys, I need advice from anyone who has gone thru same or similar situation.
I just found ot that i'm 6 months prerganant and i start thr nursing program at hfcc in august. The baby is due like the middle of febuary so i figure i can afford to miss like a week which wouldn't be a problem
and also school gets out may 12 for the summer so i figure that it wouldn't be too bad. My husband is going to take off work for those couple of months until school let out and by the time schhol starts back up August 21 i'll have the baby in daycare for the 2 days i'm in class. and i'm also doing night clinicals so that i wouldn't need daycare for 4 days.
Sorry for putting my business out there just nervous; this was a total shock.
but i need advice from anyone who has gone thru it. It does not seem as if it will be a problem.
Taking off a semester is not an option i am determined to finish on time and truthfully this situation is by no means undoable {you know)
I also feel that i will be settled in my studies meaning i'll have my studying methods down pack and will know how exactly to manage my time well by the time the baby comes so any advice will be greatly apprciated i am still going to get in school and rock it!!!
Not to mention i have an awesome husband who definitely has my back
Thanks for all advice

Six months pregnant and due in February? That is one loooooong gestation, girlfriend! That will be an interesting case study INDEED for your OB class second year!
Either way, congratulations on this beautiful news.
Students have gone through NS while being pregnant, delivering the baby, then jumping right back into school. You might feel some pressure initially from the front office folk, but don't let them dissuade you from your goal. They don't have authority over you; only the Dean does. Be firm in your resolve!
Again, congrats on your fantastic news. God bless Little excited08!!!

First off - CONGRATULATIONS!! Is this your first? Secondly, I'm hoping that 6 months was a typo or you're in for a very long pregnancy.
I haven't been thru school and pregnancy before, but I can tell from your positive attitude that you can make this work!
Good luck ! I'll be in the program with you.

First of all I think that taking off for 1 week is unrealistic and what happens if you have a c-section? What's the big hurry to get through? Relax, enjoy the end of your pregnancy, you will be tired, and enjoy the first months of your precious baby's life. Calm down and relax a little.

Could u explain, what kind of flak from the front office. Im not being funny but, what could they possibly say (you know). I mean i'm grown and i do what i want so what could possibly be the problem.
And like i said i'm not being funny it just seems a bit strange ( you understand what i'm saying?)

Once again thanks guys for the info and yes i do believe that i'll be just fine or should i say i know that i'll be alright this is my third child so i really believe that i'll only take off 1 week due to the fact that my husband is going to take off until the end of school which will be may12 and the baby is due around the 2nd week in feburary
The good thing is that we have summers off at hfcc so, i'll be good and adjusted with my studies i just hope and pray that my pregnancy goes well which it should (hopefully)
My first two were natural full term births (No C-Sections).
So i just really have to find a good daycare for when i return off summer break for 9 months for the 2 days we are n class a week which is going to be o.k due to the fact that 1 day is a short day and the other is a long day.
Once again thanks for every bit of advice and i know for a fact that i will be o.k
I'm soooo glad that we have the summer of because if we didn't i don'y know what i would do so it all works.
More than anything i'm glad that the baby will be coming towards the end of class at the end of my first year so yeah!!!!!! Itll be 1 year down and 1 more to go so i can deal with that.
I'm soo happy, i was upset at first but, once i sat and thought about everything and formed my gang plan i was much happier so, now i'm very excited seeing how everything will still work out just fine without the baby altering everything.

I think you'll do great. Especially having had 2 previous pregnancies, you know how your body will react. Obviously, bed rest would have been a problem for you. It's great that you husband is a wonderful support to you all.
I'm glad you go over this shock and were able to see it as the blessing it is. Enjoy the rest of your 9 months
Again, your positive attitude along should get you through all of this.
