should I change to another career

I have been a RN for one year. I feel very stressed working as a RN. Any mistake even minor can take away my job. My nurse manager gave me such a hard time for any mistake I have made. I cannot say I will not make any mistake in the future. In addition, the pay rate for nurses is not that attractive.

I am wondering if I need change to another field. I have two kids, married. THe youngest one is n infant. I am thinking about finance or accounting. Anybody has any idea about job markets and salaries in Boston for finance or accounting.

Thanks.

Re: should I change to another career

hi bbpp, it's too early to give up! know thyself... when you decided to go to nursing school, did you really want to become a nurse? This is the same question I ask myself day in and day out. Do I have the passion to become a nurse? But just like any profession or any job in this world, you'll never know the entirety of it until you step your foot on the floor. Turn your mistakes into learning. Instead of focusing on your mistakes at the end of the day, focus on what you learned during the day. You went to nursing school for 2 or 4 years; you're only there for a year. Do you think it will be a waste if you quit now?
