Question Quincy College - clinical hrs. question

I'm a student at QC. This semester, seems the clinical placements are all overfilled, so each week a couple of us have to complete a make-up at the computer lab, instead of attending our site. We each have to miss two clinical days. Is this a bad sign, or not a big deal? DO people have experience with this type of scheduling?

Re: Quincy College - clinical hrs. question

Is this the LPN or the RN program? Also the state mandates a certain amout of clinical time, just make sure that this requirement is met.

Never heard of this from anyone.. I can see if they were having you make up clinical hours. Quincy College has a very tough AD program, then again they are all tough. good luck!

Re: Quincy College - clinical hrs. question

I was in the Practical Nurse program at Quincy (2007) and found their to be similar issues. Everyone just looked the other way and dug their heads in the sand (so to speak). I would NOT recommend Quincy College to anyone for anything at all. I am so glad I am out of there, and I am not looking back!!!!

Re: Quincy College - clinical hrs. question

I agree that you want to be assured that your clinical hours are being met. I am unaware of this as a practice at Quincy. I just graduated from the evening ADN program and never had this happen. I did notice while searching the help wanteds that Quincy is trying to hire instructors. I imagine this has something to do with it. Clinical instructors are tough to find. I had heard of other 2 year programs having similair issues and not meeting clinical hour time. Contact your class rep and see if he/she can get more information.
