PCT training in MA

Hi all,

I am a pre-nursing student (with a masters degree in education), who will be changing careers to nursing.

I will be applying to various nursing homes that offer CNA training. I have heard that some hospitals offer Patient Care Tech training to people with no experience. Do you know of any hospitals or facilities that offer it?

Thanks!

Re: PCT training in MA

Gosh, you probably know the anwer by now. But, I would get my CNA license from the American Red Cross, just so you can get your feet wet.

If you live in Eastern Massachusetts, I would check out Bunker Hill Community College's program- they actually teach you "acute care" skills in addition to the skills that nursing home CNAs use:

Otherwise- do the 4-week program through the American Red Cross.
