Hi Jerry,
I'll be graduating with a BSN in May. Would you mind giving out that HR person's name??
Thanks,
summer

Sweetooth, do you mind me asking where you got an ER job outside of Boston as a new grad? That's exactly where I'm interested!

Re: New grad moving to Boston from CA

AlmostRN,

I am sorry but I like to keep my place of employment private, but I will add that I also had 9 years of EMS experience (3 as a medic) plus two years of ER tech experience(first job out of highschool before I went into EMS). There were many MANY applicants (I am told at least 100 for one position) for the New grad ER position as there always is esepcially when there is only one slot, but honestly I got the job over other canidates because of my previous job experience.

I will recomend, if you are still an RN student and not yet an RN that you apply for a position somewhere as an ER tech and that will get yoru foot in the door and get you some experience at the same time. Good luck

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Sweetooth

Re: New grad moving to Boston from CA

Thanks so much Sweetooth! I have actually been working for a year as an ER tech at my local hospital and am graduating in a few weeks...I don't want to work at my ER because they don't have a new grad program and they tend to push people through orientation, in my opinion. But I do love the ER in general and I hope to work there someday!
