Does anyone know if Umass Memorial hires new grads into L & D? I am thinking about moving to Sturbridge in the future. I just graduated and if I could work there it would be convenient. Even more great would be to work in L & D, which I am having a hard time getting into in the Boston area, and which is what I really went into nursing for. Anyone know anything? Thanks for any info.!

UMass Correctional Health hires new grads, but Correctional nursing is a far cry from L & D. There is a women's prison however, MCI-Framingham that may be more up your alley?

It does not hurt to try. When I had clincal there, my instructor pointed out a nurse that came to L and D after graduation.

I can tell you that most of my class after graduation ended up working at UMASS. If you can't get in there I am sure that you can work in Med-Surg for a little till there is an opening.
