Would anyone mind telling what their B.S GPA was when accepted to a direct entry graduate nursing program?

I am trying to figure out just how competitive these are. Any other hoops you had to go through to get in?

I have been accepted to the Simmons Direct Entry program and still waiting to hear from MGH's program. I had a 3.7 overall undergrad GPA. Hope that helps!

Hi! I am going the Simmons direct entry program starting in May.
I think they really look closely at the whole application and not just the GPA. They have a guide to typical student grades/scores etc.

I was accepted at Regis. My GPA for my BS degree in business was 3.7. I didn't end up going to Regis though - went to an evening ADN program instead.

I was accepted into Northeastern's Direct Entry Nursing Program and my GPA met the minimum GPA requirement, however it wasn't anything that stellar. I have three years of various patient care experience in a couple of different hospitals and I think my essay was very strong. So I do think they look at you as a person and not just a set of scores. The best thing you can do is find a way that you can stand out in some way. Just don't be intimidated and go for it.

It definately matters what your undergraduate major was. If it was English for example they are going to to expect a higher GPA and good grades in your prereqs as opposed to a science major.

My undergrad was in neuroscience my GPA was 3.5. I did the direct entry at BC.

I'm sure the programs are extremely competitive considering you can almost always expect people who recently graduated and were trying to get into the undergrad program for their first major to apply. I graduated with a 2.9 GPA and after reviewing my transcript, the admissions counselor at East Carolina University suggested I apply to both the Alternate Entry MSN program and the traditional BSN program so that I could have a back up plan. You could also try doing an ADN program then apply to an RN-MSN program which are popping up everywhere. Another option would be the Accelerated BSN programs. Although schools look at your undergrad GPA a lot of them will take your pre req's GPA into consideration too...At least that's what they told me at ECU. Good Luck!!!
