What's up with the New Mexico license? I had a woman apply for a job...she's from the phillipines...lives in Massachusetts, wants to work in Massachusetts yet took the New Mexico boards. Are they easier? I think the reciprocity from there to here takes 90 days.

Re: agency to petition foreign nurses

hello,

thanks for replying anyhow, BON of New Mexico takes shorter time to give eligibility for the exam and you also get your hard copy of the license. Regarding the reciprocity I dont have any idea yet since I'm still checking for the agency to petition me for massachusettes. I live in Athens , Greece right now and the reason why I needed to work in Massachusettes particularly in Harvard Medical hospital alliances maybe in due time I can go back to Greece bec my husband is Greek and he would like to stay here for good.

You do not need an agency can be done direct but at the moment with retrogression many hospitals are not taking on foreign nurses due to the 'not knowing' how long it will last but due to the high demand especially from the Philippines you are currently looking at several years before moving to the US. VB at the moment is showing a processing date of 2002. May as well wait until things are moving forward for you before endorsing license
