Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has applied here and if so what was your GPA? I just went to an information session for UMAB and I am a little discouraged. They said they get over 1000 applicants and only have 200 spots for both the masters and bachelors programs. I hope to have a 3.7 in prereqs but am not sure if this will be good enough. Any help?

I finished up their accelerated BSN in December. I had a 3.3 from my first degree, and a 4.0 in the 4 pre-reqs I had left to take. I've heard it's a bit more competitive now, but I think they look at the whole picture. Good luck!

I am starting at UMAB this Fall. I was accepted into their new Clinical Nurse Leaders Master's Program, which replaced the accelerated BSN program, but asked to be in the BSN traditional program because I want to be a CNM. Anyway, I had a 3.3 GPA as a biochemistry major in college, a 3.9 GPA for my master's in public health, and a 4.0 GPA in nursing pre-reqs.

DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!!! I don't think that they look only at GPA. Get some good recommendations and write a unique essay, and you will stand out. Good luck! Feel free to e-mail me directly if you want more info on the application process, etc...
