What is the base pay for and RN 0-1yr experience??
What are the chance of getting a hospital job with an Associate in Nursing degree??
How much does a 2 bedroom apartment cost on rent??
Is it easy to get into a RN-BSN program, and list of some schools please??

I really want to work in a hospital, but in Massachusetts, most of the hospital are presently hiring only BSN nurses. Most of ADNs end up in nursing homes. MA is also very expensive and I am looking for much less expensive states and MD and GA are on my top lists. Please I need advice. THANKS

I am not sure where you are located in MA, but I am also a new graduate. Many hospitals hire ADN RN's. Beth Israel, New England Baptist, UMASS, Saint Vincent, Harrington, Hubbard, Milford, Clinton, Leominster, Framinham, Leonard Morse, Marlboro Hospital... etc. are some of the hospitals that hire ADN's. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time and patience, as well as a bit of assertiveness! LOL! Although it is expensive to live here, the pay in MA is very good. Usually, if you go to the states with lower living expenses, you get a pay that is lower too. I am not trying to discourage you from relocating, I am just letting you know that most ADN RN's do not end up in nursing homes.

As far as Atlanta:

Base pay for new nurses 18-23/hr. Other than Emory or St. Joesph's, no one really differentiates, and even those take quite a few ADNs.

I worked in Athens and a two bedroom ran $500-$700.

As far as Maryland, while some facilities will prefer BSNs, I worked at both NIH and JHUH with an ADN (I went in with experience though). Rents vary greatly, with Rockville and Bethesda being pricey and more rural areas being cheaper.

Johns Hopkins hires new grads with ADN's. There are a number of RN-BSN programs locally, and JHH's tuition benefits are very good.

Can't speak to apartments's but there's another new grad moving here (from Mass.) with a thread under Maryland nurses, ask her.
