Still waiting on that letter...

Hi,

I'm new to this site and I guess I'm just wondering how long it took for you to hear back from UMB or any other nursing schools around the area. I go to UMBC but unfortunately I'm not in the 2+2 program. It's really frustrating to hear everyone around me saying how excited they are, I've been hearing this for the past 1.5 months. I guess another thing that ticks me off some more is the fact that I know of a girl who got in with a 2.4 gpa... I'm sitting here thinking that her advantage as a 2+2 student and outweighing people with higher gpa's is truly outrageous. They were also not required to take the NET exam for the application process.

The deadline to the application was May 1, so I know I should still give it some time... but I haven't heard from any of my other schools either, which adds onto the existing stress. The semester is ending and I have no idea what to sign up for next semester at UMBC because I'm done with all my pre-reqs. I honestly have no desire to obtain a degree in psychology and then applying for the CNL program as a backup plan. I also did not want to waste $200 deposit on renewing my on-campus housing for next semester.
^ If I don't get accepted, what do you all suggest I do? Should I continue taking classes at UMBC or should I take a semester off and reapply to more nursing schools for another semester?

I'm sorry that this sounds more like a rant.
I have exams this week. I swear I'm usually more cheerful

I understand your frustration but think its too soon to be too worried about the what ifs. Wishing you well. Please let us know when you do get your acceptance letter!

Re: Still waiting on that letter...

do you know if they send out rejection and acceptance letters together?
I just called home and I didn't get anything. Hopefully tomorrow.

Re: Still waiting on that letter...

I am not sure how they do it. I would be surprised if they sent all the acceptance letters on the same day.

Re: Still waiting on that letter...

Still no letter!!!!

But I went online to check on my application and there's a new line that reads, "Decision: Committee Ready." Before there was only a line that said complete ready for review.

I'm guessing it means nothing significant.. but if anyone can explain to me, please do so.

Re: Still waiting on that letter...

Hey Lonestar,

I just checked online and I got in for UMB. I remember checking it like you and it just saying "Completed ready for review". So I decided to quit checking all the time . But when I checked today it said "Application Status-Decision Made" then on the next line "Decision: Admit-Institution"

I would call and speak with Amanda Barnes at UMB and ask her. It sounds like they may be still reviewing your app
