Particularly, if you're the civic minded type.
Did you find that U of MD has opportunities for service while in school i.e. locally in Baltimore inner city and also Internationally-any internship/relief work/ et cet while in school? What sorts of relationships do they have with relief organizations and do they encourage service?
I have searched the web site and googled every combination I can think of and only come up with the Govenors Wellmobile and vague mention of some innner city clinics. Where does one get more info?
How about the faculty? Is there a lot of service/social justice oriented work going on or is it mostly academic research? (Not that they are mutually exclusive) Unfortunately, I have found the admission office to be less than helpful answering questions when you are a prospective student. Does that change if you are accepted? I sure hope so.....any words on that?
Thanks to anyone who cares to shed some light.
