Re: Insights on UMD RN-BSN program

I just graduated from the program this semester. Its not hard to get in( I believe). It is easier for RN's to get in than traditional students. As long as you have all your prerequisites and you dont have a ridiculously low GPA , you are good. I believe my GPA was 3.5 but i know people with lower GPA's that got in. The key word is that you are already a nurse and you have finished all your prerequisites. I actually had one more class pending when i got accepted. I took most of my classes online and i only had one clinical component ( Community) , and that was a breeze. It invloves writing papers a lot, group projects , quizes and exams. I know that compared to my associates program, it is definately easier but i kept busy and i studied hard. I was also working full time while doing it. It took me 1 1/2 years to complete it but I know people who completed it in 1 year while working full time, and others took like 3 years. Its really up to you. Good luck.
