Waiting lists???

Are there long waiting lists into the Nursing programs at CMMC, KVVC, UMA etc? I imagine that USM and St. Joes have a wait, but what about some of the smaller schools? Thanks for your reply!

Re: Waiting lists???

I know KVCC and UMA (Augusta campus) both have 2 year waitlists, UMA's distance sites (such as Elsworth and Machias) the waitlist is 4 years.

Re: Waiting lists???

I've heard southern Maine schools have about 2 year waiting lists.

I go to school at NMCC and there is no waiting list as far as I know. I got it first try but it's also a small area.

Re: Waiting lists???

I've heard that there's no wait at University of Maine at Fort Kent. It's just a rumor, but I've heard it a few times. Unfortunately, I had already started at UMA, so I didn't bother to confirm it.

Re: Waiting lists???

I know that there is a 2 to 2 1/2 year waiting list at SMCC, and I heard a 1 year wait for UNE, this is in the York county area. (Biddeford and South Portland, specifically). Get that application in and start working on those prerequisites!
Good Luck!

It's actually unusual for any BSN program to have a wait list. I'm positive Orono, Husson, UMFK and USM don't. What happens is 200 - 300 people apply each year for 40 to 80 spots and those who don't make the cut must apply all over again the following year. I heard Eastern Maine Community College does the same thing.

USM does not maintain a waiting list.
