What are working conditions like for nurses in Maine. Patient to staff ratio? Pay scales? Job opportunities? etc...Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Maine is a great state to live and bring up a family. There are still the urban problems, but much less in number. If you are lookin g for Neuro than you are looking at Maine Med(Portland), Central Maine Medical Center(Lewiston), or Eastern Maine Med (Bangor). I know CMMC best and it is a good place to work, you may find the money less that where you were, but the wages are about equal at these hospitals. I work in a more rural area, we are associated with CMMC. Check their website for jobs at any of their hospitals.

The Summers here are great and the winters can be long, but if you can't take the winters, you don't deserve the Summers!
